I had a chat with a potential hotel chain client who loved the look of our products but as his team had never touched or experienced our garments he wanted to know why our prices were a little higher than other brands.
Essentially there are five primary reasons. I chatted these through with him, and at the end of the conversation he couldn’t wait to order his teams new 'Cream Collection' uniforms and aprons.
Here’s the five reasons:
- Superior Material Quality 🏆
First off, it’s all in the touch. We weave our signature fabric using 100% certified organic cotton for all of our products. This cotton isn’t just any cotton - it’s super soft, breathable, and feels absolutely lovely against your skin. Polyester, which is often cheaper, is synthetic and made from petroleum. Polyester can be a bit rough and doesn’t breathe as well. So, when you choose our organic cotton, you’re choosing quality and comfort that lasts. It’s a little more expensive, but trust me, your team will thank you!
- Ethical and Sustainable Production 💚
As you know we’re committed to doing things ethically and sustainably. This means fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect for the environment. I’ve seen too many companies cut corners, using cheap labour in poor conditions. That’s not who we are. We believe in treating people right and making sure our production process is kind to the planet. Yep, this costs more, but it’s the right thing to do, and it’s something I care deeply about.
- Chemical-Free Farming for Healthier Soils 🌿
Everything starts with the soil. The organically grown cotton we use is grown without harmful pesticides or chemicals. Healthy soil is everything - it’s the foundation of a sustainable ecosystem. If we don’t take care of our soils, we’re not only damaging the land, but also our waterways and the food we grow. Producing cotton this way does make it more expensive, but it’s a vital investment in our planet’s future. Unfortunately, conventional cotton farming uses a lot of chemicals that can do real harm, but we’re committed to keeping our farming practices clean and green.
- Zero Plastic Packaging🌎
One thing I’m especially proud of is our packaging. We’ve made a firm decision to avoid cheap plastic entirely. Instead, we use biodegradable or recyclable materials. Plastic pollution is such a big problem these days. Our packaging might cost a bit more, but it’s a small price to pay to help protect our oceans and reduce waste. Every little bit helps, right?
- Local and Transparent Supply Chains 🌈
And lastly, I explained where our garments come from. We either make them right here in Australia or partner with international teams who share our values. We've visited each of our suppliers and have their factories audited every year for fair labour practices and ethical working conditions. We treat our manufacturers just as we would our mothers and sisters, that is, with respect. It might add to the cost, but it’s worth it for the peace of mind and the positive impact we can have.
I hope I’ve answered any doubt you may have had. The higher price of our products reflects the care, quality, and ethical practices that go into every piece. It’s about making choices that are better for you, better for the people who make our clothes, and better for our beautiful planet.
I really believe it’s worth every cent, and I’m sure you feel the same.
